Conservation Centered

Updated: Sep 19, 2019

It is important to us that as a business we also make a difference in keeping our oceans clean so they can be enjoyed for generations to come. Because of this we have decided that 10% of every purchase will be donated to a non-profit that is focused on ocean conservation and sustainable surfing.

We have selected two that we will be working with and supporting. The first one is the San Diego chapter of the Surfrider Foundation. We chose them because of all of the work they do right here in our local stomping grounds to keep our beaches and oceans clean. If you follow us on Instagram you will know that our family went out to the Morning After the 4th clean up event to help with the mess that is left behind after thousands flock to the beach for this holiday. We look forward to helping them with many beach clean ups in the future and hope to see some of you out at these events too.

The second non profit we will be donating to is Sustainable Surf . We love their mission statement to "Be the catalyst that transforms surf culture into a powerful force for protecting the ocean playground." and want to help in this cause in any way we can. All of our boards are made with either up-cycled blanks ( blanks that were miss cut by other shapers and headed for the trash) or Marko Foam envirofoam blanks. We will be adding Arctic Foam Algae blanks once they are available to the market. Regardless of the base materials we use eco resin on every single board.

Our UFO model and other short Piapo style boards are made from blanks saved from the landfill.

We are working to develop Fins, Fin Boxes, and wax combs that are made from materials that are either recycled, recyclable, or compostable. With these products we will be offering incentives for people to return them to us so we can ensure they are re purposed/broken down correctly.

All of our fins, boxes and wax combs are 3D printed in house using eco- friendly materials

It is our hope that our decision to support and push for green surf will help encourage others to work toward making more eco-friendly choices in every area of their life.
